Workshop at IITM 6-10 May Last date for sending applications: April 5

IIT Madras will be organizing a Workshop “Imaging Cinema: Emerging Trends in Filmmaking” from 6-10 May. At the end of the workshop participants will be equipped with sufficient knowledge and insight into the current trends in filmmaking. Focus will be on recent trends in Direction/Storytelling, and Cinematography.

An IIT Madras certificate of participation will be given at the end of the Workshop.


EXPERTS: Sessions will be conducted by experts in direction, cinematography and editing from India and Canada . Some of the resource people are:

Mr Santosh Sivan (director of Ashoka & Terrorist/cinematographer of Raavan, Dil Se & Iruvar),
Mr Dibakar Banerjee ( National Award winning director of Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, Love Sex aur Dhoka & Khosla ka Ghosla),
Mr. Abhishek Chaubey (director of Ishqiya; screenwriter of Kaminey)
Mr. Alphonse Roy (Cinematographer of Aamir),
Mr.Saurabh Shukla (writer of Satya/actor Slumdog Millionaire),
Mr. Sreekar Prasad (7 time National Award Winning Editor of Kaminey, Dil Chahta Hai, Firaaq & Yuva),
Ms. Fowzia Fathima(Cinematographer of Kuchh toh Hai, Mitr My Friend),
Mr. Nasser (Chachi 420 , Quick Gun Murugan, actor),
Mr. Michael Filimowicz (Canadian expert in digital photography & interactive video).

Fees: Rs 3500/ for students. (Rs 5000 for Working people/professionals)

Application processing fee: Rs 100 (Non-Refundable).

HospitalityThe participants who require accomodation will be given accomadation within the campus. Hostel, which are Non A/C room, rent per day is Rs 150. DD must be drawn out in favour of : Chairman, Council of Wardens IIT Madras.
Guest House, A/C single room for 5-10th may (arrival 5th morning, departure 10th evening) is Rs 1500/- total. DD must be drawn out in favour of Taramani Guest House, IIT Madras.
